No Plumbing Complications

A machine that gets rid of all your kitchen waste can also help you save plenty of money on plumbing costs in the long run. You see, big scraps of food can quite easily clog your entire kitchen plumbing and create a backflow of water, drowning the sink.

This can be quite frustrating because you will not be able to clean anything unless you get it fixed. And fixing it is no simple task, the entire plumbing of your kitchen will have to be dismantled and unclogged, which is a costly procedure.

Moreover, if you ignore the problem, the kitchen pipes may even burst. And you do not want that to happen. Installing a topnotch kitchen waste disposal machine will prevent these issues. In addition, the machine will also help you save money on water and energy bills in the long run. On top of that, when it comes to installing a garbage disposal machine, you can easily do it yourself and will not require professional assistance.

Maintenance Is Easy

Another sweet reason to buy a garbage disposal machine is it requires less than minimal maintenance. You may have to sharpen the blades once in a while, and you can do that by dropping a couple of ice cubes down the drain and into the machine. Turn the tap on and switch on the machine. The blades will crush the ice and also get rid of dirt and grime. When it starts to stink, sprinkle a couple of teaspoons of baking soda on the machine.

Installing A Garbage Disposal – Easy And Quick Steps

The cost to install garbage disposal appliances is zero. How? That is a good question. Well, the fact of the matter is a sink disposal machine is easy and simple to install, provided you read the manual. However, we have simplified the steps for you so you can have your disposal machine up and ready in a jiffy.

Step 1
You will first have to dismantle the drain basket. After you do that, put a bowl or small bucket beneath the drainpipe where you will be placing the machine. Don’t place the machine just yet. Thoroughly clean the sinkhole and everything around it and apply plumber’s putty near the sinkhole. Gently force the sink flange downwards into the sink hole and ensure it is reinforced with the putty.

Step 2
Go under the sink and carefully place the gaskets and washers that came with the product. However, be sure to read the manufacturer’s manual. Take the mounting ring and place it over the flange. After you do this, slide the ring and reinforce it so it is placed securely. Next, use a wrench to tighten the bolts that came with the product. There should be 3 bolts. This should fix the flange into place with the sinkhole. Remember to get rid of excess putty.

Step 3
Pull the disposer you just placed beneath the mounting ring gently and carefully align the disposer against the mounting tabs. The mounting tabs should be under the entry points. After you do that, rotate the ring so it latches on to the ridges and locks on them.

Take your screwdriver to ensure the connection is nice and tight. Turn the disposal unit so that it can properly align with the discharge piece that is fixed with the drain trap. Make sure you connect the disposal unit firmly.

Step 4
Utilize the band clamp. The component may come with the product. If it isn’t included, you can get a retaining spring as well. Use either one of the components to firmly link the drain hose of the sink or dishwasher with the drain hose of the garbage disposal appliance.

Step 5
This is the final step. After you connect the drain hose, take the power cord and plug it inside a waterproof electrical outlet (GFCI-grade), and connect the outlet with an air switch. You can even buy a remote-control disposal unit.

So, these are a few simple steps you can follow for effective garbage disposal installation.
